Welcome The purpose of the Learning Network is to broaden and deepen our understanding of how the design principles of Teachers for a New Era can contribute to the reform of teacher education, and to encourage the thirty institutions of higher education that belong to the Learning Network to reach out to others with similar interests. Focus This week's topic: Electronic-Based Induction to Support Novice Teachers Electronic-Based Induction to Support Novice Teachers Many of the colleges and universities participating in the Teachers for a New Era (TNE) initiative are now providing electronic-based support as part of a menu of induction offerings. They are supplementing in-person activities such as face-to-face meetings, seminars, and annual induction institutes with a variety of web-based tools such as listserves, discussion forums, interactive websites, online courses, shared spaces for posting files, libraries of web-based resources, and “webinars,” or web-based seminars.
